Gran Duque D’Alba came into being in 1945. The Seventh Duke of Alba, Jacobo Fitz-James Stuart y Falc’o, requested his name be added to a brandy being made by the Medina family. Upon tasting, the Duke decided it was so great the naming honour should go to his ancestor the Great Duke of Alba, Fernando ‘Alvarez de Toledo y Pimentel.
Mahogany highlighted with gold defines the pour of this superior brandy. Complex aromas rise into the nose, with distinctive balsamic notes. The palate is medium-dry, smooth, and full. Burnt undertones and vanilla hints follow.
